Continuing Professional Development
Always important to those therapists who wish to provide the best range of treatments possible, CPD has now become a necessity on an annual basis. Embody, BABTAC and the FHT all require their members to undertake a minimum of 10 credits each year. Therefore to be able to get this training in the northeast will make it much easier to become the therapist you always knew you could.

Trigger Point Workshop
Trigger points are local points of tenderness found in fascia and muscle tissue. Knowledge of trigger point work is valuable to the massage therapist in helping:
Recognise pain patterns * Recognise referred pain
* Help client rehabilitation * Relieve pain * Ease muscular adhesions * Return client to pain free
range of movement * Improve rate of recovery * Improve flexibility.

Myofascial Workshop
Myofascial massage works not only on muscle tissue but also the fascia that binds them. Without
attending to both structures the massage therapist only looks at half the problem. Based on the original works of Dr. Janet Travell myofascial techniques help:
Ease pain and stiffness * Release pressure on muscle fibres * Identify potential imbalances *
Improve range of movement * Improve flexibility * Identify trigger points * Release muscle spasm
* Relieve tension.

Seated massage
An adapted massage routine you can use in offices, at home or in your practice. Designed as a half-day workshop you will learn a full treatment routine for back, neck and shoulder massage as well as receiving the treatment yourself. The massage is ideal for clients who are uncomfortable lying down or to use in the workplace.

Auras, Chakra's & Colour Therapy

A one-day workshop for qualified reflexologists to brush up their skills to incorporate the hand reflexes into treatments or use as aftercare. Reiki
An ancient and gentle form of Japanese healing that can be a valuable addition to your other therapies.
Reiki 1 is a one-day training course open to therapists and non-therapists to help harness the energy and power of Reiki for yourself and your client. A great new skill for personal and spiritual growth. This course carries 10 CPD points for qualified therapists.

Fees valid until June 2012.
Course fees can be paid by cash or cheque. A 10% deposit will be taken to confirm your place and fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to the start of the course unless otherwise agreed with the principal.
CPD and taster days must be paid in full when booking. If due to unforeseen circumstances a course is cancelled fees will be refunded in full. However, refunds are not given for cancellations.
