My Clients

I have worked with a wide variety of clients aged from 4 years old to 90+. I am DBS checked, a Mental Health First Aider and First Aider. I have worked with amateur and professional athletes as well as those with chronic pain and limited mobility. My clients predominantly visit me for therapeutic massage and well-being.

All client testimonials and case studies have been gathered with full consent and cooperation from each client. A full consultation was carried out for each one, although details have not necessarily been included here. Many thanks to all my clients who have contributed, I am grateful for your time and feedback.

"I’ve been going to Helen about once a month for over three years now for therapeutic sports massage. As an ex-rugby player turned middle distance runner who’d done very little to stretch muscles after games during my career, my hamstrings and calves were almost seized up and I had referred pain in my back. I was getting injured all the time, either hamstring strains or spraining my ankle by ‘going over’ when running. I realise now that this wasn’t just bad luck or a lack of balance, it was a measure of how much work my body needed to keep me running through my 40's and into my 50's. Since seeing Helen, I’ve been completely injury free. The first set of sessions that I had took me successfully through the London Marathon in 2012 and I’ve never looked back. Helen knows exactly how much pressure to apply (or not!) and clearly knows her stuff, with a wide range of allied expertise that makes her a brilliant therapeutic adviser as well as practitioner." "You kept me on my feet!" Sylvia whilst awaiting a double knee replacement due to osteoarthritis. Kept her fitness classes right up to her surgery and was back again within 4 weeks.

"I am having less painful days...taking fewer pain killers which is great. I have more movement and find I am able to do more", Janet following a course of deep tissue massage for a shoulder injury.

"Helen continued to treat me throughout my pregnancy with an ongoing back problem, which was exacerbated with the extra 'bump' weight. When I could no longer lie on the coach she massaged me sitting in a chair and also offered reflexology which was really relaxing and useful. I don’t know what state my back would have been in if I hadn't been able to see Helen on a weekly basis. I would highly recommend pregnancy massage with Helen!" Hayley Conway

"Amazing!" Mr. W after his first Reflexology session, says it all really.

"I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 40 years, since I was a teenager and had several joint replacements including shoulder and elbow. I often joke that keeping me active is a little like painting the Forth Bridge, the work is never done. Helen Richardson is a vital part of that work. She keeps my muscles and tendons in good shape, keeping my body as straight as possible. Helen’s gentle but firm hands help relieve the pain and I can feel the tension melting away as she undoes the knots in my muscles. I have used other massage therapists, some have been too gentle, others a little over enthusiastic but, just as with little bears porridge, Helen is just right. She is always ready to listen and work on which ever part of my body needs it most. Her fingers instinctively know where to go and when a muscle has had enough. I have asked for her work to be on a prescription as she does as much if not more good than some of the drugs I have taken over the years.
I cannot recommend her highly enough, especially for chronic conditions such as mine."
